International Movement Against Child Marriages
International Movement Against Child Marriages operates under the auspices of the Afghan Coalition, a non-profit organization that supports Afghan-Americans. Our mission is to collaborate with governmental and non-governmental entities to stop child marriages; to provide greater opportunities for educating children, and to foster a safe environment for young orphans. Our main goal and objective is to eradicate child marriages, which is contrary to human dignity and integrity.
Our first meeting with Chandni Jain UNICEF- USA representative in the San Francisco Bay Area on August 17, 2016 at the Afghan Coalition. From left to right Ms Popal, Executive Director of Afghan Coalition, Dr Younos, founder of IMACM, Ms Jain, Ms Parwin Taufiq Afghan Coalition staff and Mr Atta Arghandiwal, author and peace activist.
Children are a gift of God. They need to be respected. They need to be communicated with. Show them the right path. The path of knowledge, the path of morality and the path of civic life and faith. They are little people and they need our support and moral compassion. Those who marry children when are a minor that is a crime against children and must be stopped. The word of justice must reach out to every single family. We can make a change.
